Partisipasif Fandom Oleh Penggemar Di Aplikasi Komik Digital (Studi Etnografi Digital Pada ARMY BTS Indonesia Sebagai Pembaca Seri Webtoon “Save Me” Di Line Webtoon)

Abstract


Perkembangan teknologi, komunikasi, dan informasi memudahkan pertukaran budaya dalam diri individu maupun kelompok. Salah satu bentuk fenomena pertukaran budaya adalah K-Pop. K-Pop memunculkan kehadiran idola, fans, dan fandom dalam kehidupan masyarakat saat ini. Teori penggunaan dan pemenuhan kepuasan menunjukkan bahwa individu secara aktif memanfaatkan media untuk dapat memenuhi tujuannya sebagai penggemar dengan bentuk partisipasi fandom. Dalam konteks ekonomi, idola dimanfaatkan sebagai daya tarik konsumen untuk memanfaatkan media. Kerjasama idola dengan suatu media, menarik perhatian penggemar untuk melakukan partisipasi dalam media tersebut. Dengan hadirnya media digital, partisipasi fandom dapat dilakukan secara online, seperti komik digital. Fitur-fitur yang dihadirkan dalam komik digital dimanfaatkan oleh penggemar sebagai media untuk partisipasi fandom. Dengan menjadikan penggemar ARMY BTS Indonesia dalam LINE Webtoon, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pola partisipasi penggemar dengan kategori yang berbeda dalam memanfaatkan aplikasi komik digital sebagai media fandom. Penelitian dlakukan dengan menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme melalui pendekatan kualitatif etnografi digital. Wawancara semi terstruktur dilakukan pada lima informan yang merupakan ARMY BTS Indonesia sebagai pembaca seri webtoon “Save Me” dan pengamatan secara digital pada LINE Webtoon. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua karateristik dari penggemar, yaitu temporary fan dan devoted fan. Hasil lainnya menunjukkan bahwa devoted fan memanfaatkan fitur dalam LINE Webtoon secara lebih maksimal sebagai bentuk dedikasi terhadap idolanya, sementara temporary fan memiliki fenomena lain disamping idola untuk melakuka bentuk kegiatan partisipasi fandom.
